Trip to Wind Rivers Wyoming

Over Labor Day Weekend, Dean and Landon went with our Home Teacher, Keith Stratford and some of his kids backpacking up in the Wind Rivers which is East of Jackson Hole Wyoming. Here is a picture of the crew that went (except the picture taker Dean). They left on Friday late afternoon and drove the 5 1/2 hours to get there.

Landon helped Dean with some of the weight. We found out later that he had a large bone spur on the center of the pad of his foot. No wonder he had a hard time walking.

The food is always better at camp! Even when it is dehydrated.
We get to share! They had a great time and are already planning a trip next summer to King's Peak which is the highest peak in Utah. Maybe some of the other boys can come.

Stake Emergency Preparedness Fair

On August 29, I was over a fair for our Stake teaching various preparedness skills. I have served over 6 years teaching people skills in becoming self-reliant. The fair turned out awesome.

These are the other two women that serve on the Stake Welfare Committee with me. They work with Family services and employment.

We gave prizes out every half hour. Kimberly won the prize this time.

Grandpa helped with transportation, so Connor got to drive the bus.

I have found we learn so many wonderful lessons by becoming prepared. Above all, when things happen in life that we aren't expecting, we can enjoy the peace that comes from being prepared.

First Day of High School

Today began the First day of High School for Landon. He has a busy schedule with Honors English, Honors Algebra 2, Intro to Engineering, Physics, Seminary and Band.

Before school started he fit in game night.

Whenever his nieces and nephews are around he always makes time for them.
It's hard for us to believe that Landon is in High School. This is the last time we get to enjoy this adventure! He is a great young man and helps to keep us young.
